World Wide Play Day
The World Wide Day of Play was an event that was started in 2004 on Nickelodeon. It happens on a Saturday in late September or early October. The purpose of the event is to encourage kids and parents to disconnect from technology to go outside and play.
In 2011, Webkinz World participated in the event for the very first time.
On Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 12pm to 3pm (EST) Webkinz World was unavailable so players could be encouraged to take a break to go outside and play. Being active and living a healthy lifestyle has been a recent theme on Webkinz Newz, as well as in Webkinz World.
