Hi there, I was wondering if you knew how to add new item index pages to the page links list at the bottom of each page in the item index. It goes up to the ones before the ones I have made so far, but doesn't include them. Thanks, --Bepsy (talk) 07:23, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
Although I have a WI account, I forgot the password and can't reset it because their image verification system appears to be broken. You can send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if that works for you. --Bepsy (talk) 07:40, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
Hi! I have been adding in item pictures and names as they are released, but I don't currently know how to get to this item name list/site that people have been talking about and I wondered if you knew and would be willing to share that info with me. Thanks! --Bepsy (talk) 04:51, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
Hiya! Don't know if you still check this site, so hopefully you get this message! I'm doing the maintenance updates today, and the site from which we get the item names is coming up as a 404 error. I cannot get the names for the images, thus I cannot upload them. Nor can I add the data to Michele's spoiler page or the Visual Master List. Any idea what is going on? Do you think that perhaps they're preparing to upload the item names in some other format since flash will be discontinued by the end of the year? Also, should I upload the images by number instead of name, and then rename them once we know the official names? Thanks! Loopy (talk) 19:33, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Hello! All the images are uploaded, so you can go ahead and add the spoiler list whenever. Have a great day! And did you see Michele was here?! OMG is she back? Then I can go delete the adoption request and Michele can make the wiki editable by invited guests only and we won't have any more spam. I *HOPE* she is back! Loopy (talk) 20:22, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Sure, if you want to do the spoiler typing, fine by me! Next update is September 26. ;) I had trouble deleting that spam page, too. I finally got it to delete this morning. I think they updated the software or something and that was preventing us from deleting that garbage. And if I am allowed to adopt the wiki, I'm not making any changes lol. I just want to be able to stop the spam! :D Loopy (talk) 23:15, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Hey! Nice to see ya! Feels like it's been me and some crickets on this wiki lately, lol! I already did most of the update stuff, cause I've gotten in the habit of doing it all myself. Will you be available for future updates, or is work/school still keeping you really busy? Just so you know: I asked on the Shoutwiki forums if I could adopt the wiki, because I thought I was the only person left, and this way I could control the spam. I think one of us needs to adopt it, because Michele hasn't even logged in for a year. :( Let me know if you'd rather be the owner of the wiki and I'll go change the adoption request. Loopy (talk) 22:45, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
Hello! Nice to see you! I've kind of been keeping things going by myself for a while, figuring you were busy with work/school. Sorry if it seems like I've "taken over"...believe me, that's not intentional! :) If you have any questions or problems with the work I've done, speak up! Loopy (talk) 00:54, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Hey lady! How are you? :) All the update images have been uploaded. A Shoutwiki staff member stopped by the wiki and posed a question to us on the Main Page discussion section. If you can pass that message on to Michele somehow, that would be great. Oh, while I'm thinking of it, I'm getting an odd glitch with the Webkinz Picture Guide template for four images. It's cutting off the last few rows of images on a couple of pages. Is there a way to increase the size of the template so all the images show? Thanks! Loopy (talk) 02:21, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Hello, I hope everything is okay with you since you haven't been here in a month. I hope work isn't killing you! For the month you've been busy, we've been absolutely devastated with spammers. I'm having to spend every spare minute here to get rid of it all, and I'm at my wit's end. I contacted Shoutwiki [] in order to get some resolution, but since I am not the "owner" of the blog, I can't implement their solution. Do you have any way to contact Michele? Because she's the person who will have to initiate this process. Also, you never did the update stuff for last month, so I added a link to my user page with the 12-16 update already typed up. Will you be available for the update this Wednesday? If not, let me know if you want me to type up that update, too. Thanks so much! Loopy (talk) 21:56, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
The Thuderbird avatar looks fine to me. Not sure what the problem is! Back when the fall mystery bags came out, I uploaded a new version of the Space Girl Braids (because the color changed in the system from black to neon green) and I had to call it "Spacegirlbraids2" because the old black-colored version kept showing up otherwise. I only just changed the name to "Spacegirlbraids" in the past week. I think you have to let some time go by and let the system update. So maybe upload the images of the pet avatars, call them "avatar2", wait a month or so, and then change the name. Crazy, I know! :p Loopy (talk) 17:06, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
Hey there! I happen to have computer access for a little bit, and wanted to drop in and thank you for all of the hard work that you have been doing on the wiki and with the spoilers! I also appreciate how you & Loopy have been keeping on top of the spammers (I've been glancing in and at the recent changes from my phone from time to time) which can be tough to keep on top of! The wiki is looking absolutely amazing, and I wanted to make sure you knew that, as well as how much I appreciate your dedication!! --choircutie 16:07, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi! We're getting absolutely hammered by spammers for the past few days. I've been deleting their pages and blocking the users, but is there a better way to control this sort of thing? I'm having to check the blog every hour to make sure no more nonsense has been posted. Also, I've got the images done for whenever you get the names posted. Thanks! Loopy (talk) 15:12, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Hello! I added the new Mother's Day Gift Bags to the eStore Promo page, but that seems to fit better under the Mystery page. Do you think it should be moved to the Mystery page? Let me know and I'll take care of it. Thanks! Loopy (talk) 20:25, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
Hello! All images are uploaded with the exception of the pet avatars. I used to know how to do that, but they changed the server years ago and I've never found out how to access the pet emotions since. Loopy (talk) 21:17, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
I was already planning to do the pictures. I've gotten so much practice at it this past week, LOL. Oh, speaking of pictures, I edited the names of a couple of pictures on Choircutie's page, because Ganz changed the names in the system and I changed the names of the images in our database and they were not showing up on Choircutie's page as a result. I hope it's okay that I did that...I would have asked permission first, but Choircutie hasn't been around this week and you had not yet logged on today. If you want me to leave that page alone, just say so. : ) When you get a minute, can you please check the eStore themes page that I've been laboring over all week and tell me if it is acceptable? I'm essentially working without direction right now. If there is something that you or Choircutie would rather I did instead, please let me know. Thanks! Loopy (talk) 21:56, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
Hello! I certainly am familiar with your work at WI. I don't know if Choircutie has told you, but I've been collecting the images every Update Wednesday by myself for years, and I've been getting the names of the items from either your WI page or hers! : ) As I usually harvest the images first thing on Update Wednesday mornings, it's no trouble for me to do so tomorrow. One thing you might want to change on Choircutie's page...she only has the item names listed for the February 15 update under the "February 15 and March 8" update. Since I collected the images from the March 8 update when they were current, I can tell you which items belong with that update. I don't know if you guys can tell which images go with which update from whatever source you use to get the names, and, according to Choircutie, I don't want to know how to do that because you get put on the naughty list by Ganz! I don't want to be on that list, so I'll let you guys take the heat. : ) Anyway, it's nice to meet you! Loopy (talk) 01:27, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
As far as templates go, the WPG templates (of all sizes) are some of the simplest. I don't have anything too complicated as far as coding on here, though. Even some of the trickier coding on here can be figured out with a bit of trial and error. (It took me a bit to figure out some of the coding for the main page of the wiki!) Once you update the WPG template, you can just keep editing the pages as normal, you don't have to do anything special. And there's no limit on how large a template can be. --choircutie 02:35, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
I'm glad you thought to ask before I left, too, as it would have been significantly more difficult to answer that on mobile!! On the template page go to the edit tab. You see how there are groups of five in numerical order through 600? Basically you just continue doing the same thing past 600. It's pretty simple, really, It's just not something I've managed to get around to, and as the PSI and eStore pages (especially the eStore pages) are completed, the template will need expanded so that everything shows up. --choircutie 02:13, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
As I've given you Admin rights on the wiki (meaning you can edit protected pages, move files, and move pages, among other things), editing templates is an ability that you have. The WPG Template is by far the most used template on the wiki. Whenever you create a new gallery on a wiki page, the WPG Template is essentially the coding for the gallery, so everything shows up nice and neat on the wiki pages. As it's the most used template, and generally the go-to template for large Gallery pages, it likely needs expansion past 600. (Take for example the Current PSI Page: Once there are 600 PSIs shown on the page, even if you do the coding for more PSIs, they won't show up on the page until the template is expanded. Does that make any sense? lol I'm not sure how to explain it. Learning much of the more "behind the scenes" wiki work was a LOT of trial and error, and exploring the workings of other wikis, and testing things until I figured them out. --choircutie 00:23, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
I'm not sure if this is an option or possible for you, but out of all the ways to contact me that I have posted here the best way to contact me is really through Facebook, as I have Messenger set up on my phone, so I'll see anything there instantly. That said I did go through my settings and WebkinzTown, and should get an e-mail when I get a new private message now, so that should be a viable option, too. :) --choircutie 00:36, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Okay, I got the bare bones of a few of the pages set up for you, and added another couple of main pages. If you can think of any more main pages, feel free to add more, or let me know your ideas, and let me know if you need me to add more to any of the pages, too! --choircutie 20:27, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
I think for the Food Machine page go ahead and just put the makers only on the page, as some of the machines have a multitude of foods that they produce, and eventually there will be a Food Machines Collection page (as well as a number of other collection pages, such as this one. I just finished the project I was working on (holy moly so many pets to add to my New Pets Page!!) so I can definitely get started on setting up a category page! --choircutie 19:59, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Oh gosh, the eStore pages, talk about pages I've been procrastinating! LOL! Basically the general idea I'm going for is broader main categories with sub categories (similar to how the eStore categories are set up) on those page. I have a few notes on set up on the talk page here Talk:(Picture Guide) Ganz eStore. For the clothing, yes, definitely set up as you described, with complete outfits as their own section (ie: Cowabelle Kinz Outfit, Seafaring Outfit, etc). If you have any ideas or suggestions, too, I'd love to hear them! --choircutie 18:41, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Awesome! Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be happy to help. :) --Rose Quartz 17:24, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for asking :) I actually had no plans to include the Super Surprise Boxes in the wiki itself, as they don't contain any exclusive prizes. All of the potential prizes are items available for purchase from the Ganz eStore. I'd eventually like to have a general wiki page for them, but nothing more than that. --choircutie 02:44, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
I'm not sure if we have either. I have been fairly inactive on WI for a few years. I still go on to check things out, but not active like I used to be. It is great to meet you as well. You're doing a fabulous job uploading pictures. If I think of anything I'll let you know. You can also try asking Michele to see if she has any projects she'd like your help on. --Rose Quartz 14:52, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
Hi there! Welcome to the Webkinz Picture Guide. Michele told me that you're coming on board to help us upload images. I think that you're off to a fantastic start already. I'm not sure if we've met before, my name on here is Rose Quartz, but on a lot of other Webkinz sites I go by Blythe. Please let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to assist as best I can. Thank you for all the work you're already put into the WIKI. I look forward to working with you on this project. --Rose Quartz 19:28, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Already done! It took some searching, but it turns out a year or two ago there was a gallery of the gift baskets on Webkinz Newz, and they had it there! --choircutie 04:59, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
Just wanted to stop by and THANK YOU for all of your hard work gathering and uploading images so far!! It is SO MUCH appreciated! --choircutie 04:53, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
Hey, glad you made it! Here's your user talk page :) --choircutie 22:23, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
Yes, that is how you reply! I forget that you can search the kinzapedia on WKN, haha. Yes, you can find the images using the kinzapedia. Here are instructions on finding images without using the kinzapedia:
Instructions on getting needed images:
- First, here is the image link
- The number you see in the URL is the item's number in the Webkinz Database.
- To find this number user this page.
- This is what I do for all images, get the pictures using the Item Number and save them.
- Once I have the images saved to my computer, I use the Multi Upload Tool to upload them to the WPG.
- In my experience, only 20 images will upload at one time.
- Not much to it, really. Though sometimes the wiki can be finicky, and a page won't show uploaded images unless you edit the page, and then hit save changes.
- Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
